More small businesses plan to use AI tools in the future, but they will likely need some training to get the most out of them.
AI isn’t just for big companies: small businesses are also taking advantage of the efficiencies it enables.
According to research by the Connected Trade CouncilAbout 64 percent of small business owners are already using or planning to use AI tools in the next two years. The decision is driven by the need to increase efficiency due to inflation and economic uncertainty. And now, Google offers free AI training to SMEs (small and medium-sized businesses) through a funding grant to the U.S. Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and an online workshop.
The $10 million grant to the U.S. SBDC is intended for the organization to create SBDC AI U of the United Stateswhich will provide AI training to SMEs through clinics at SBDCs on university and community college campuses. Additional scholarships for the Google’s basic artificial intelligence course It will also be available to the US SBDC to train AI clinic advisors.
In addition, Google has developed Beginners’ training on your AI-powered tools which can help SMBs understand the basics of AI and how Google’s AI tools can work for them. You can enroll in the course on Google’s website and watch the on-demand training whenever it suits your schedule. Digital Coaches are also available free of charge to train and advise SMEs to help them grow their businesses.
Research from the Connected Commerce Council finds that 82 percent of SMBs surveyed that are currently using AI have already seen a positive outcome from using AI, while a further 81 percent say they believe AI will be critical to success in the next two years.
