the recent wave of generative artificial intelligence services, from ChatGPT to halfway, are designed to be easy to use: the idea is that anyone can produce text or images using natural, non-technical language. There is a low barrier to entry.
That being said, there is still a lot to learn about how to get the most out of these tools and the technology that underpins them, especially if you want to do something truly creative with the help of these tools. Inside my head
Some of the best resources out there when it comes to generative AI are Substacks, and Inside My Head is a good example. Led by technologist Linus Ekenstam, it features a wealth of useful AI-related material, including tutorials on how to get the best results from these tools and how to create the smarter directions.
There’s also news about the latest happenings in the world of AI, tips on different apps that might help, and promises of much more to come, including an AI training course. Some publications are free to read, while others require a $10/month subscription.

Towards AI is a one-stop online store for all your generative AI needs: including news and opinion, tutorials, a busy online community, and more, with artificial intelligence and the latest developments serving as the thread through it all.
The site covers tools to help you get the most out of AI, offers interviews with engineers working in the field, and of course has the obligatory email newsletter that you can sign up for. There are also stories about some interesting applications of AI that you may not have thought of before.
towards AI in the middle
The AI Podcast
Nvidia’s AI Podcast releases episodes every fortnight and covers all aspects of artificial intelligence, including generative AI. Covers the impact of technology on gaming, science, sports, language, hardware, and more.
Each week there are one or two special guests from a different organization in the field of AI, and it’s an engaging and thought-provoking resource for expanding your knowledge of AI and finding out where these various innovations could go next.
visual AI
Another Substack resource, Visually AI is a project by creator Heather Cooper. She tells you what’s available in terms of generative AI tools and helps you get the most out of them, whether it’s text, images, or anything else the AI is capable of generating.
It’s one of the newer resources out there, so there’s not a lot of content to read at the time of writing, but there’s already an AI toolkit you can download and a discussion on ethics. Note that some posts are locked behind a paywall, which starts at $8/mo.
