“Sexy, flirtatious, fun,” says London’s designer, Conner Iives, when asked to describe the essence of a Jimmy Choo shoe. And “Always on glamor,” adds fashion writer Alexander Fury. “There is a sense of occasion with each piece.” As the best known luxury footwear brand for its brilliant stilettos approaches its 30th anniversary, the duo has been invited by the long and long creative director of Choo, Sandra Choi, niece of the homonymous founder, to review the file and cook a selection for reissue. “Almost like an exhibition of greater successes,” says Fury, whose earlier choo memory goes back to a 1996 edition of British Fashionfor which he spoke with Choi about a couple of boots from the winter collection. The resulting edition, which is launched tomorrow, includes eight styles extracted from the first five years of the brand. From “The Strappy”, a Satén Tanga sandal recovered from the debut collection of the SS97 brand, to “The Leo” and “The Bow”, which explores Choo‘S flair for animal prints, and the most called “72138”, a delicate suede lilas that became famous at the foot of Carrie Bradshaw in the third season of Sex and city – They are “faithful recreations,” says Fury. To commemorate the year, there will be a total of 2,025 pairs in the Italian brand factories, now directed by successive generations, with only smaller modifications to the materials to make them more responsible: that is, “the boot” was originally made in Python, but the reissue uses a printed leather.

How did you select the final styles? “It was mainly to define the moment of fashion at that time: how these styles have shaped the design aesthetics for the brand. High heels that cause femininity and glamor, the fantasy of beautiful but simple details, the soft and sensual touches,” says Choi. “These are pieces to which the new generations are paying attention through vintage references, and” simply so “, as Bradshaw would say,” feels new again. ”
