Are private banks worth it?

Unlock the Editor’s Digest for free

For centuries, UK private banks have managed the finances of the country’s richest and most powerful people.

Account holders enjoy many perks over customers of high street banks — including bespoke wealth management services, investments and tax planning — as well as the cachet of being a member of an exclusive club.

FT Money would like to hear from readers who have experience with private banks. What was your motivation for becoming an account holder? Do you think you could get better advice more cheaply elsewhere? Would you consider moving back into premier or mainstream banking?
