A woman who met her donor kidney by chance on a day at the beach urges others to consider donating their organs.
Lucy Humphrey, 44, from Caerphilly, was told in 2019 that without a kidney transplant, she would only have five years to live.
He was diagnosed with lupus, a condition that causes inflammation of the organs, in 2001.
After a chance conversation on the beach at Cold Knap in Barry, with 40-year-old Katie James, then a stranger, it was discovered that they were a perfect match.
The transplant was performed in October of last year and both women are doing well.
