Next week the best and greenest will camp out in West London for the Chelsea Flower Show, a gardening mecca of sorts that has been around in one form or another for over 100 years.
Some of them will return to their own gardens ready to do radical things with weeds and wildflowers, a growing trend in Chelsea, according to our resident expert George Hudson – while others will simply be grateful for their own slice of green space.
A recent Knight Frank report found that London flats with private gardens are worth 12 per cent more than those without.
And the luckiest among us will inherit not a six-foot patch of brambles but something that’s already been ‘done’, whether by a Chelsea gold medalist or a particularly green ex-resident.
Here are 10 of the best gardens on the market right now (but you’ll also have to buy the house).
