Over 100 local small businesses were nominated and competed to be crowned Bromsgrove and the Village’s Favorite Small Business.
After a month of voting and 1,992 votes cast by local residents, Thomas has revealed the winners of its inaugural contest.
In joint first place, having received the same number of votes, are Casa Med, a family-run Mediterranean tapas restaurant in the center of Bromsgrove, and JJ’s Café, an independently owned cafe in Hollywood.
SJP Theater Arts, a Bromsgrove drama school, took second place and Bremi’s, an independent cafe and bar in Aston Fields, took third place.
Mr. Thomas visited all four companies to congratulate them and present them with their awards.
He said: “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and it has been a privilege to celebrate them as part of my inaugural Small Business Awards.
“With 1,992 votes being cast, its residents clearly love and appreciate their local, independent small businesses as well.
“Huge congratulations to this year’s joint winners, Casa Med and JJ’s Café, and congratulations to SJP Theater Arts and Bremi’s for finishing in second and third place respectively.
“I would also like to thank all the companies that participated in this year’s contest. It has been fantastic to celebrate each of them.
“This year’s awards may be over, but my work to support our small businesses will continue.”
