Carytown Shops Prepare for Small Business Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – The best deals on the best gifts are a priority for many now that the holiday shopping season is in full effect.

If you didn’t get what you were looking for on Black Friday, next Saturday is Small Business Saturday.

“We have 15% off everything in the store this weekend,” said Jessica Noe, owner of Lineage.

“We have $5 cups, we have some really nice ornaments here and on our other tree,” said Morgan Travis, manager of Brick and Mortar.

They both have their stores in Carytown. From high-end items to white elephant gifts, they say their store is well prepared for shoppers.

Shopping locally during Small Business Saturday means your money will go right back into the city.

“Carytown is a great place to meet friends and go out, but we need to be able to keep businesses thriving, so being able to support local businesses in the area really helps the entire economy of the area. —Travis said.

“By shopping at small businesses, you really help give back to the community.” Noah said. “I mean we’re creating jobs.”

According to the United States Chamber of Commerce, when you support local businesses, taxes spent at those stores are used to fund public schools, parks and public service workers.

Small businesses are also very involved in the community. So, while you buy that special gift for your loved one, you may also be giving it back to someone who needs it.

“A brand I like to highlight is called Caps For Kids,” Travis said, “so it’s a bubble with bottle caps from local breweries and major national breweries, but of the profits, 10% goes to fundraisers. funds for children”.

Travis says Brick and Mortar will be expanding its business hours this weekend and expects to close at 9 p.m.
