Celebrating World NTD Day with a photo exhibition: “Reframing Neglect”


On 30 January 2023, in observance of World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Day, WHO partnered with The END Fund and The Fund Reaching the Last Mile to launch a photographic exhibition titled “Reframe neglect” at United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ).

The event was moderated by Benny Bonsu, International Olympic Committee (IOC). Stewart Simonson Director WHO office at the United Nations United Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary General (UNDSG), Ellen Agler, CEO, END FundDeputy Permanent Representatives of Indonesia, HE Hari Prabowo and the United Arab Emirates, HE Mohamed Abushahab, and UNESCO Champion for Girls’ and Women’s Education Nadia Nadim highlight the need to increase collaboration and investment in NTDs to continue the trend of progress experienced during the last decade.

World Day for Neglected Tropical Diseases 2023

The opening event was attended by more than 100 multiple stakeholders, including the philanthropic and sports industries. WHO works with partners at the UN and the Friends of NTDs Group to promote this work through relevant UN processes.
