Chippenham small businesses ‘put on the map’ by social media campaign

“There has been an increase in empty shops,” Williams told the BBC.

Michelle Ovens, director of Small Business Saturday, agrees that there have been problems “on all fronts.”

“There is high inflation, high interest rates, staff costs and all input costs have increased, energy bills have been incredibly high,” he said.

Williams said social media has been a big help to his business, which opened on New Road last year.

“It’s definitely a big help for us.

“When we first opened, we filmed the entire construction. Our following increased even before we opened.

“So any social media that we can get involved in is a huge benefit to us.”
