Cyclone Mocha Updates: Cyclone Mocha may make landfall today (Sunday), May 14, near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. According to the Meteorological Department, the very dangerous cyclonic storm Mocha is moving towards the north-west, due to which strong winds are blowing at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
According to the IMD, the cyclonic storm will hit the coast of Cox’s Bazar and Kyaukpyu near the port in Myanmar. Because of this, winds can blow at a speed of 210 kilometers per hour. An appeal is being made by the administration to maintain distance from the beach. Fishermen, ships, boats and trawlers are prohibited from going to central and northeast Bay of Bengal and North Andaman Sea.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from the coastal areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar to a safer place. In the wake of the powerful cyclonic storm ‘Moka’ rising from the Bay of Bengal, the people of the coastal areas have been warned to stay away. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted strong winds with a speed of up to 210 kilometers per hour between Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh and Kyokpyu in Myanmar. High waves are rising in the sea due to the effect of the storm.
NDRF teams deployed
The Meteorological Office has advised fishermen, ships, boats and trawlers not to venture into central and northeast Bay of Bengal and North Andaman Sea. Due to the cyclonic storm, there is a possibility of change in the weather and rain in the southern states. In view of the cyclone, eight teams of NDRF have been deployed in West Bengal.

When will landfall happen?
The cyclonic storm Moka is likely to cross southeast Bangladesh and north Myanmar coasts between Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh and Kyokpyu in Myanmar on the afternoon of May 14. Moka will make landfall in the border areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar. It is expected to collide between Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyokpyu (Myanmar) by the afternoon of May 14.
However, even before landfall, storm Moka may weaken slightly. Despite this, the winds of the cyclone will blow at a speed of 210 km per hour.
