I do agree with this but have had a hard time with that over the years because of past unexpected tragedies. Yes, it is the best to do Most of the time I just happened to have experienced the rare cases (fairly often) when normal stuff resulted in tragedy.
This is the most truest thing I’ve heard yet. Trust me I was one of those hawk eye moms. I swear my kids said I knew what was going to happen before it actually happened lol. But even though I was on top of my kids ALL THE TIME I still allowed them to do dangerous things carefully
THANK YOU!!! I have to fight my sister-in-law on this EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Drives my incredibly crazy and I've had to talk to her so many times about not panicking around my daughter when she's doing something "risky"
Really never thought of this topic in that way because I would guess as a parent you instinct is just to protect. But this statement is correct "doing dangerous things carefully", allow them to expand their imagination and their development of self-confidence. So right! 🏋🏽♂️👏🏼🙏🏼🕯️😁
I used to say "Yes you can climb it if you feel sure you won't fall off it." That made them stop and think about it, rather than me telling them if I thought they could or couldn't. Of course I wouldn't let them do things where getting it wrong = serious injury or death or annoying the neighbours, but otherwise I was pretty chill. and they never really got it wrong for that sort of thing, the only things I've taken them (now adults) to hospital for are rugby injuries and nearly hacking a finger off while cutting a lime.
👍 I love y’all as a family and also a big fan of Shawn as I love gymnastics ❤ and also a big fan of Jordan Peterson and so the love grows where the East family goes.
I work in an infant room at a daycare, ages 6 weeks to 16 months, the older kiddos are always climbing and doing crazy things, if I discover them doing something dangerous (one loves to climb into our baby swings on their own) I slowly move towards them and repeat “pay attention to what you’re doing” as I creep towards them to get them out of the situation. Instead of freaking out and freaking them out. That’s when they get hurt.
Sometimes young parents are irresponsables with their babies ! They transfer their own desires on them since social media appearing! 😢😢😢😢each one wants to show his child as an star an smart one 😢😢😢😢😢
I was often around high strung people when I was raising children. They were always pointing out everything. I wanted to say “ They’re fine” but was again they’d think I was a bad mom. I was let go as a child. I feel more independent because of it.
Jordan Peterson 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Love Jordan Peterson in the background
So true❤
God bless them! This is so true no matter how much you try you have to let them Be kids
"Usefully neglectful" 😅 I like that.

Jordan Peterson (the voiceover) is a far right extremist misogynist. The East family is.better than this.
Very smart man!! I just love listening to him. ❤
My son did careful things carefully and still managed to smack his head on anything in the vicinity

I can’t ever take these men seriously, one of them sounds like Kermit and shudders when he speaks, and the other lost his sanity with his hairline.
Jordan Peterson is so ficking annoying. I likes him better when he was in his benzo coma.
Yes and when they hurt themselves remain calm and brush it off as a little accident or they’ll panic because your overreaction has scared them.

IT’S KERMIT DUDE!
Side note- Michael Peterson sounds an awful lot like Bob Odenkirk! I thought this was Better Call Saul talking at first😂
Amazing family Shawn and Andrew are great parents!❤
