RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Sac County Flower Details. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize one small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“Thank you to Cheryl Gerry and the entire Details Flowers team for spreading joy and creating beautiful floral arrangements and lasting memories for the Sac City community.” said ranking member Ernst. “I look forward to watching this already thriving small business continue to grow and flourish in northwest Iowa for another 24 years and more.”
Cheryl Gerry founded Details Flowers in 2000 with just two full-time employees and one delivery driver to provide house calls for floral design, wedding services and home decor in the Sac County area. Over the past 24 years, the business has grown to include more part-time employees who share Cheryl’s passion for flowers, underwent an extensive renovation, and moved upstairs from its original location on Main Street. The Sac City Chamber selected Details Flowers for its 2010 and 2023 Business of the Year award, as well as the 2023 Business of the Month award. Cheryl and the entire Details Flowers team continue to give back to their community, especially visiting nursing homes and assisted living on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to give flowers to residents.
