Expedia says Rathi Murthy and Sreenivas Rachamadugu, its CTO and senior vice president of core services engineering and products, respectively, no longer work at the travel booking company.
In a statement shared with Bloomberg and elsewhereExpedia said Murthy and Rachamadugu “are no longer employed by Expedia Group” due to an unspecified “violation of company policy.”
“We are actively looking to fill these roles and remain confident in our technology, strategy and employees,” the company said. “Due to confidentiality, we will not be commenting further on the matter.”

The exits of Murthy and Rachamadugu seem unexpected. Murthy spoke to TechCrunch about new features powered by AI announced earlier this week and reportedly gave a presentation about those features at an Expedia conference with business partners.
Both joined Expedia in 2021, coming from TechCrunch’s then-parent company, Verizon Media (now Yahoo).
This isn’t the company’s only recent leadership change. Ariane Gorin, who was announced as the new CEO of Expedia Group in FebruaryHe officially took office this week.
