Elizabeth Holmes has lost her latest bail application while she is appealing her fraud conviction.
Tuesday’s ruling by the US Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco means the founder of Theranos Inc. will soon have to report to prison to start her 11 1/4-year sentence after a jury convicted her of bloody investor fraud last year -Test start.
Holmes had won a short break that delayed the start of her sentence while the Court of Appeal considered her application. The Appellate Body confirmed the lower court judge presiding over Holmes’ trial and denied her request for bail. She can still appeal her conviction, but must do so from prison.
A similar request by former Theranos President Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani was also denied. He reported to jail last month to start his 13-year sentence.
