General Motors announces formation of new power unit company for Cadillac F1 project

General Motors and TWG Motorsports have announced the formation of a new company that will build powertrains for the Cadillac F1 project, the team that could potentially join the grid in 2026.

GM Performance Power Units LLC will help Cadillac become a “full” team by the end of the decade, and Russ O’Blenes has been named CEO of the company.

O’Blenes, currently GM Motorsports Propulsion and Performance team principal, has more than 30 years of motorsport experience, and his signing follows news in early December that former Marussia sporting director Graeme Lowdon had been named team manager. project.
