we just make rules like " you have to come back at 22 o clock" or somethink like " dont drink too mutch " xD
yes, you can be a good student during the week and go to the club on the weekend, especially on Saturdays here (I'm from the Czech Republic).
when the party was in the city and we were 15-18 years old, no one took care of the transport, when it was in the next village, we walked, a friend who already had a driver's license (from the age of 18 with us) who didn't drink or our parents picked us up, it was normal that one parent agreed and he picked up 2-4 children and dropped them off, the next week the parent of another child drove again… But I don't remember someone driving drunk (yes, sometimes it happened or someone claimed to be driving drunk, but personally I would he didn't drive home as a drunk driver)
as I read the comments, many of us bought fresh bread at the local bakery on the way back in the morning, regardless of region or state 😀
so is the phrase: when you're old enough to drink, you're old enough to do. (aww those mornings with a pounding head, bloodshot eyes and no sleep, when we had to engage in the usual activities :-D)
Walking or taking the bus to school seems normal to me, just as I didn't see anything strange about the fact that after school (in the 8th year) I went across town to pick up my brother at kindergarten and take him home (+- 1.5 km)
Times changed a lot… I'm 33 now, but when I was 3 years old I used to ride the bus to german Kindergarten about 3km away 😉 It was in a rural area and I had a few friends with me, same age… to my mother's defense…
I love in Germany and My little sister started taking the bus alone in second grade
I think it’s not that important for German kids to not get hurt, because there is health insurance 😀
German Parenting avoid presidents like Trump
Wait…..are that real Items for kids and parents at the beginning im just scaried about ,if parents in the USA really would used it. Is your kid a dog?😮
Should we tell him that already first graders take regular busses. It is not difficult for them, the school is for all kids the same and on their way home they know how their area looks and often elementary and secondary schools are close to each other so there always will be some older students of whom at least one scans the kids from time to time if everything is okay and who will help unasked if they see the need to intervene.
I feel that if you're monitoring your kid 24/7, you're essentially torturing him. I feel bad for kids like that.
I don't know about Germany, but in many european countries it isn't cool to get drunk to a point of alcoholic coma or vomiting everywhere, like in the USA . People can drink without ever getting drunk or you can not drink alcohol at all and enjoy yourself!
Kids in Europe are motivated to study because university education is free, so they have a really good reason to study from a young age as that knowledge will come in handy when they apply to the different universities and have to write tests for every application, regardless of how wealthy their parents are, as it is not a matter of money but a matter of knowledge and test scores. Everyone has an equal chance to become an engineer if they study, and kids know this and their parents know this as well.
In the US, kids who already know from a young age that their parents will never be able to pay tuition, don't have a good reason to study because they know that they will never apply for a higher education, so what's the point? Also the parents are not motivated to make their kids study as they also know that they can't afford tuition fees. Why waste time for something that will not be useful later on? This is why the rest of the worls calls americans dum-dums, as the majority never had any motivation to study and because of this, they really don't know anything about anything.
You know why it is all about safety in the USA. Because you can sue people for the most ridiculous reasons. Like suing McDonals because the coffee they served was hot and a woman spilled hers on herself. Then she sued McDonalds. Just crazy. That wouldn't happen in Europe. You would be laughed at by the judge. So the playgrounds have to be safe, otherwise, when a kid falls and injures himself, the company who build the playground could be sued!
I think in Europe we teach our children to take responsebility. So for example, you give your child the choice. What do you want to do first. Homework, or play, or first play and then homework. Then they feel that they have something to say about their life. But they also learn that they do have to do their homework. Shal we go for a swim first and then do your homework, or do you want to do your homework first and then go for a swim. Do you want to clean your room first and then go to the playground, of do you want to the playground first and then clean your room. Give them choices. And if they have flunked a test. don't get mad. Ask if they have studied hard for it. If the answer is yes, just calmly say, well, next time better. Or if the answer is no, you can tell them then that it was their resposiblility to study for the test. And never make their projects. Always let them do it themselves. And if they forget to do it, then they have to deal with the consequences. Later in life you have to deal with the consequences when you mess up at work too.
I have to say my 4 year old already knows when we need to get out on the bus to get home (and he point that to us very loudly). I think the key is to use public transportation early 🙂
I would think te parent would explain the repercussions of not sutdying. "what do you want to do when older?" "how do you get there? think about it
"
Your children get shot in the US, that's different in Germany. So you can give them more freedom.
Sure a republican motto is "Do as i say Not as i do"!
Do American kids really wear helmuts in playgrounds? Are you serious?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You speak a lot to much.
I think, the danger of to take drugs is in the Us 10 times greater then in Germany.
Hmm arent you americans call yourself "Home of the Free"? Well that isnt the Case for you Children, therefor you get not productive-teens that dont have the personal NEED to learn because the want to learn, instead of being forced to things…
