He will be missed, what lovely words for him. RIP Murray 🙏
F1 will never be the same. Surely the first row of the grid must be reserved for Murray in 2 weeks at the first race.
RIP Murray 🏁⭐
Great tribute guys 😬😬🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
Guys I remember meeting the tyrell team in kyalami and Murray used to talk about them and all the teams with such excitement i loved him but im a friend of the voice the man . I cried when I heard and still am
Master of his craft my ass!
The guy talked nonsense most of the time.
Often mistaking team mates or even teams.
He was completely frustrating.
I remember James Hunt getting often annoyed with him when utter dribble would come out of his mouth.
All these guys are paying lovely tributes to the man but all know he was actually useless at the job.
Martin Brundle needing to point out he was getting all excited about the wrong car or driver so many times.
I liked the guy as a person but tell the truth please.
When he retired. We started getting far higher quality information and insights.
Rip sir Murray Walker
I miss Ted's Ghandi Sandles !
RIP MURRAY 🙏
RIP Murray Walker you will be missed, that voice will be imbedded in my brain for ever.
Fair play Ted. Lovely words.
His Murrayisms could be the UK'S national anthem!
RIP
Murray greatest presenter in uk and around the world sad sad loss RIP
LEGEND!!!!
Murray Walker showed us all, what it means to do something with passion and love. He was a legend. R.I.P. Mr. Walker…. Thank you David Croft, for showing us your passion throughout the season. It is always great to hear your commentary.
I wonder if F1 can have Murray's old voice interrupt the start and have him say it's 1 light, 2 lights, 3 lights, 4 lights, 5 lights
GO, GO, GO!
Just an old broadcast audio play for the start of the race. That would be nice.
The quintessential sounds of Forumla One:
#3 The roar of a 90's V10
#2 The Chain by Fleetwood Mac
#1 Murray Walker
The last time I felt the loss of someone that has played a big part in my life as Murray Walker did, was in 2011 when we lost Gary Moore. There were tears then and there are tears now. Such was the immense impact the first time I heard Murray Walker on TV, I was hooked on F1 from that moment. Thank you, Murray Walker.
The Murray Walker sound track will NEVER be bettered. He lived F1 and everyone in F1 respected him even those who never knew him in person, but we knew him for decades and sadly missed him when he retired. Nobody WILL EVER be better than him as nobody has his passion for talking about F1.
A fantastic tribute from Ted & Crofty there, many things well said indeed!👍
I don't think Formula 1 would've had the same popularity if not for Murray Walker's commentary, he really brought life into it even if nothing interesting was happening, just having him there doing what he does best at all times!👏
He was Formula 1, im a fan because of him as much as the cars and drivers, the sport lost a father figure. RIP Murray and thank you.
Murray Walker. The sort of man you would cross the street just to shake hands with. RIP
Except James Hunt that is.
Murray and the BBC "brought the sport into our living rooms" – and Sky took it away. Thanks Rupert and Bernie.
Salute to Murray he was a legend in formula 1 and always will be. Rest In Peace Murray we know that you are looking down on us from heaven we all hope you will be proud of your work here at formula 1 and we will try our best to keep that enthusiasm of yours up here at formula 1. Rest In Peace we love you Murray.
To.bad he had to live for the last 7 years with the cheating nazis at Mercedes ruining the sport!
You can see Crofty and Ted holding it together
RIP . YOU ARE A F1 COMMENTARY LEGEND. NO OTHER COMMENTATOR CAN COME CLOSE TOO YOU. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND I LOVED YOUR F1 BOOKS.
COMMENTATING IN HEAVEN A TRUE F1 LEGEND WHO MADE EVERY F1 RACE SPECIAL . THE ENERGY THE EXCITEMENT YOU BROUGHT IT ALL . NOW YOUR COMMENTATING TOO ALL THE ANGELS, F1 DRIVERS WHO PASSED AND ARE NOW RAISING IN HEAVEN.
great video sky and good memories as told by Ted and David.
Murray was Mr Motorsport, best known for F1 but for those of us old enough to remember he also was the voice of the BTCC, Rallycross, Scrambling etc
Crofty really trying hard not to burst into tears.
I don't often cry at famous people's deaths, but I was gutted when I heard the news.
Rest in peace SIR Murray walker
I would have done anything to shake his hand and thank him for the years he gave me happiness in F1 and BTCC.
F1 should also recognise his Time in the BTCC, they were some of his best years.
RIP Murray 🙏🏻
He was the conduit between Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet and all the other characters in Formula One and myself. His enthusiasm was infectious, his words made me fall in love with Formula One. He was both a father figure and the excited child, without a mean bone in his body, and a gentleman of the highest order. I'm from Melbourne and I spent my childhood and early adulthood staying up late every second Sunday night to hear his words. I loved the excitement and rejoiced in the Murrayisms. He said he loved Australia, and my word Australia loved him right back. It hasn't been the same since the 2001 US GP but his appearances in the intervening years have always been fondly received. To say he will be missed now is a masterstroke of understatements. I met him once when he signed my copy of his autobiography – if that wasn't already priceless, it most certainly is now. Rest In Peace Murray.
2 things that are the sound of F1……. a screaming V12 and an excited Murray walkers commentary ❤️
I feel like a family member has passed. RIP Murray x
"And look at that!!!"…
Shame were not saying Sir Murray Walker
Murrey signed my autograph book several times. It gave me an opportunity to chat to him. Unlike some others. Some ran off like scaled cats. Others ignored you. Some just outright refused. Only Stirling matched him for courtesy.
I really hope Crofty does proper like it goes. "Two light's, Three lights, Four lights……. GO GO GO!" When first race begins in honor of Murray Walker OBE.
A friend and my self meet murray in Adelaide in 2008. He gave us over two hours of his time just the 3 off us. We spoke about the 50's all the way to the current time. It was amazing to hear is stories of the legendary tracks and drivers. The very next day Murray spotted my mate and myself and greeted us by name and then spent another hours with us untill his PA dragged him away to a meeting that he was late for. Thank you Murray i will never forget that or the years of hearing your voice late on a Sunday night
Genuinely makes me cry. RIP Murray. You made so many people happy.
My favourite ever Murrayisms are, "the car in front is absolutely unique, apart from the car behind which is the same."
"I would would imagine that the conditions in the cockpit are totally unimanageable."
Actually strange to realise that for a generation, David Croft will be the voice of Formula 1. For so many of us, for so long, it was Murray.
There was only one. RIP Murray.
