Apple likely maintained the position of the Apple Pencil because many users have a habit of holding the iPad in landscape mode. Just picture yourself holding the iPad with your left hand, and the pencil is on the left side of the iPad in landscape mode, while you're also holding a coffee with your right hand during a meeting with the camera on. Managing everything could be quite challenging. Although one could suggest swapping the positions of the iPad and coffee, some people are either left-handed or right-handed, and there's also the issue of not having the option to carry the Apple Pencil separately. If you unintentionally bought the pencil without considering its position, your only option is to attach it to the iPad.

6:01 Pretty sure why they placed the pencil on top of the camera is that a lot of people use iPad in landscape mode. This is the default mode that apple considers while designing it. Thats the reason why the camera is on the top. And thats the best place to house the pencil as well, since placing it anywhere else will hinder usability.

the Apple pen part at 6:53 is nonsensical. Design wise having it charge on either side is aesthetically unbalanced. On one side it sits on top of the volume buttons and either way it looks off. It’s also easy to mess up making sure it’s sitting where it needs to. Most people can’t mess up the center. Also depending on orientation,
Top and bottom might be less stable.
It’s a valid complaint that the new pencil only works on the new iPad, but it is a complicated design quirk.

Yes, I do with Gemini have to basically correct Gemini when I ask it an actual question. Like the menu in an app is in X location. And I have to say I can't find X menu you are describing. Then it says My apologies….. I wish the Ai would take 1-2 seconds longer to Either fact check or relook at the object,etc. to respond with a better answer. I do love how fast Gemini is and it is mostly correct. I would hate to have to wait 5-10 minutes for me to get a perfect answer. In that case I would never use the AI.
Also apple with their Snoopy watch face does a small version of AI if you really want to call it AI. But when it is supposed to be Raining out side it will be raining on the snoopy watch face,etc.
