A Liverpool property firm is preparing for a “bumper” auction as demand in the market starts to surge.
Sutton Kersh Auctions has signed off its catalogue for its latest event, which is set to take place later this month. It comprises 140 lots.
Cathy Holt, associate director at Sutton Kersh Auctions, said the business hasn’t seen these types of numbers ‘for two or three years’.

She also said the lots for May are a “mixed bag”. Cathy added: “There a few you can put your own stamp on and move into them, which would make excellent family homes. There’s also typical buy to lets or ones you could do up and sell on.
“There are 50 residential investments with tenants already in and rent already being paid. There are also a few pieces of land and potential redevelopment opportunities.”
The auction is set to take place on Thursday, May 25. Among the lots are two huge ‘doer uppers’ in enviable locations, one of which even boasts a swimming pool.
The property on Elm Avenue in Crosby has a guide price of £625,000 and as well as its own pool it also has a games room. It will going under the hammer alongside another renovation opportunity in Cressington, near Aigburth, which has a guide price of £525,000.
The sprawling six-bed house served as a family home for more than 50 years, with character features retained throughout.
Cathy said: “Overall it’s quite a bumper catalogue with a lot of variety; not only for typical investors, but for for first time buyers, builders and anyone who wants to get on the property ladder
“We’ve had two auctions so far this year which I’m pleased with. You could say it’s not as buoyant as it was as there aren’t as many buyers but we are still selling stock.
“The prices haven’t dropped dramatically and we’re getting more than what the vendor would expect on the day.”
