House on King Charles III’s Sandringham estate is for sale

Station House in Wolferton, near King’s Lynn, came up for sale last spring but selling agents Sowerbys say it has since returned to the market after an “unexpected” chain break.

The Grade II listed property is now for sale with the firm for £1.1 million – £95,000 less than when it was first listed.

Station House is actually one of four properties converted out of the former Wolferton station complex which, up until the late 1960s, was regularly used by the royal family when they travelled to nearby Sandringham.

For the best part of a century it welcomed passengers, including the kings and queens of Portugal, Greece, Denmark and Spain, along with the emperor and empresses of Russia.

Now converted into a home, almost everything about Station House represents a bygone era – even the brick pillar and lantern out the front dates back to the late 19th century and is in the shape of a crown.

A spokesperson for Sowerbys, selling the property, says: “‘Rarely available’ is a phrase used frequently by estate agents, but in the case of Station House this can not be emphasised enough.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to occupy an individual and historic home in a prestigious location.”
