Eyewear brand Cubitts has invited nine top designers – including Shona Heath, Faye Toogood and David Shrigley – to create their dream frames. Each design, from Yinka Ilori’s floral-patterned glasses to Wilfrid Wood’s multicoloured shades, will be hand-made in Cubitts’ studio, displayed at its Islington branch during the London Design Festival, and then auctioned off online. 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to Create, a charity that reduces loneliness through art. A colorful cashmere collection supports Doctors Without Borders

Abask and the design firm LA Shamshiri Studio They have collaborated on a collection of brightly striped cashmere throws, cushions and sleep accessories (from £165). The pieces are handmade in Nepal using a traditional jacquard pedal loom, and each takes between 30 and 50 hours to make. 20 per cent of their profits will be donated to a humanitarian charity. In addition to being a movie star and glam rock icon, David Bowie was a long-time supporter of Child of warIn 1994, he teamed up with Brian Eno to organize an art show to benefit the children’s charity. Now, a similar auction and exhibition, Sound and vision, exhibit works that respond to a lyric from “Rebel Rebel” – “we like to dance and we look divine” – as the song turns 50 this year. East London Bakery The Dusty Knuckle It is famous for its potato sourdough and huge focaccia sandwiches. Its youth programme, which offers training and employment to disadvantaged 18-25 year olds, is less well-known. For this year’s annual fundraiser, the community interest company will take over Dalston Roofpark for a night of music headlined by platinum-selling DnB group Rudimental. Ai Weiwei’s limited edition prints help defend human rights

Ai Weiwei’s latest creation is a series of limited edition lithographs titled Grass and mud horse (a nod to a mythical beast that has come to symbolize resistance to Chinese internet censorship. Available in blue, yellow or peach ($1,650 – or available as a set of all three), the prints refer to civil liberties, turning handcuffs and surveillance cameras into kaleidoscopic patterns. This September, London-based members’ club Annabel’s will unveil the 2024 façade for its annual Annabel’s for the Amazon campaign. This year’s programme includes an installation of a work by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz, a special cocktail menu and a gala and auction of art, jewellery, wine and VIP experiences. All proceeds will go to support The Caring Family FoundationUN efforts to tackle child poverty, deforestation and domestic abuse in the UK and Brazil. September 19, annabels.co.uk
