Earlier this year I traveled to India to visit a close friend and spent two weeks exploring Mumbai, Kerala and the Andaman Islands. In retrospect, I should have brought a larger suitcase – the local crafts, spices, Ayurvedic supplements and antiques were so appealing that my carry-on-only approach was a challenge on the return trip. However, I managed to pack a pre-planned beach-meets-sports-meets-city (extremely hot) capsule, which made it easier to cram in all the souvenirs I gathered along the way.
