How To Set Up YouTube Parental Controls

YouTube Parental control is a must if you are letting your kids use the YouTube app or YouTube website.

There are three simple steps you can mix and match to make YouTube more kids friendly and hide mature content.

Step 1: Use YouTube kids instead of the YouTube app. If you can keep your kids on the YouTube Kids app which is designed for kids 12 and under, it is less likely to contain mature content of any kind.

Step 2: Turn on restricted mode on the YouTube app on iPhone, iPad, and Android and turn on restricted mode on YouTube.com
Make sure to lock this option, so it can’t be easily changed back.

Step 3: Turn on SafeSearch for your Google account. Google owns YouTube, so this option transfers over to YouTube and Google searches.

  1. the funny thing is I turn restricted mode on for myself I don't want to see inappropriate things either if I want to search for something Rated-R that's my business but I don't want sensitive things being recommended to me

  2. Or youtube could just literally put all their kids stuff on their kids app, leave the adults be and have them teach their kids the rights, wrongs and dangers of the net, but that assumes they're good parents out there in this modern-day.

  3. FFS there is a lock, to lock the kids' account but they can't be bothered to add pin to my account so they can't get into the regular YT app on the tv…

  4. I did this but it doesn't take videos off of YouTube when you go back to the same video which lets you play the same video so how are you supposed to get rid of the videos you don't want to show your kids

  5. I heard the n word a lot on my 5 yr old brothers phone and he was watching Jake Paul, who is not popular anymore and inappropriate. Thank you for this
