  1. Honestly, those video didn't need to be 10 minutes long. I guess it's for the algorithm but it's so irritating when someone spends 30% of the video repeatedly saying "look how easy this is". Saying it three times before actually doing the thing is not good video production. Others then that rather helpful skills.

  2. As someone who hires, in the UK, I absolutely to see some hobbies on there, at the bottom, I want to know the person I'm hiring actually got some interests outside of work.

  3. What are your thoughts on using an “entrepreneurial undertakings” section on a resume? I’m looking to get into project mgmt but I have no “formal” professional experience.

I owned my own successful fitness studio for 7 years where I did everything (one woman show) until I decided to close the doors. I also currently own a small e-commerce business (my husband and I run it) for the past 8 years.

Both businesses gave me an opportunity to use project mgmt skills but my role wasn’t project manager. So I read an article that creating an “entrepreneurial endeavors” section is sometimes a good way to showcase that experience.

I have been in a role of marketing director snd program coordinator at an entrepreneur development center for the past 2 years and did 8 months of contract work as an assistant project mgr at a marketing agency that I can put in the professional experience section.

    Thoughts?

  4. extremely boring and time wasting video. over 3 minutes and half literally, no useful information at all. I'm shocked by the fact hat over 1900 persons liked your video!!!!

  5. It's so good yet so bitter sweet. It's sad that we can't be ourselves anymore in our work, we have to use technology to make us as superficial as possible just to be noticed. Once everyone uses this process, we'll all have "award winning resumes", so then what happens? They can't pick everyone to sit for an interview.

  6. Edit: First of all, thanks a lot for the video; I took notes of everything you said, and added it to my job-seeking notepad.

I'm sorry for what might be a silly question, but I don't understand the part about personal hobbies. I have always been told to write a small section on hobbies, in Spain, UK and Taiwan.
Did you mean to not talk about strictly-personal hobbies like, let's say swimming, and focus more on job-related ones? Or did you mean not to include hobbies at all? I'm aware this might be country-specific, but I'm intrigued, since it contradicts what I have been told multiple times before.

  7. Very interesting and useful video Heather!
AI is a game changer but it's also becoming a big Life Hack!
I wonder if Employers are going to start ( or already doing so)
screening for 'Too Perfect Resumes' that look suspiciously created
via AI and screening out candidates for these reasons?

I am definitely going to use it since I have nothing to lose…LOL.

  8. Thanks for cascading your knowledge/experience, but especially for being transparent in talking about the pitfalls of using this method. You've inspired me to share my personal experience. Hope you'll have the time to share some feedback – How to build a 2 pager resume that will generate interviews:
