Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, who had come to Goa to attend the SCO summit, was reprimanded by the Indian Foreign Minister. S Jaishankar responded to Pakistan’s position as a promoter, protector and spokesperson of the terrorism industry. Instead of handshake with Bilawal, he greeted from a distance. During this the tension between the two countries was clearly visible.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar gave a blunt answer to all the discussions going on in the media on the altercation with Bilawal Bhutto. He said that Bilawal Bhutto had come to SCO as Foreign Minister. If I have a good guest, I am a good host.”
In fact, after the SCO meeting, Jaishankar, during the press conference, lashed out at Pakistan and Bilawal and said that Bilawal was treated as Foreign Minister in the SCO meeting. He is the spokesperson of the terrorist industry. Nothing from Pakistan can be trusted. The victims of terror and the conspirators cannot sit together and talk.
Rahul Gandhi also targeted
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also targeted Rahul Gandhi. He said, “I would like to take a class on China from Rahul Gandhi, but I came to know that he himself was taking classes from the Chinese Ambassador.
It is believed that the Foreign Minister has targeted Rahul Gandhi’s statement made in January regarding the construction of China’s bridge on the banks of Pangong Lake. Then Rahul taunted that the PM should not go to inaugurate this bridge. Rahul Gandhi wrote in the tweet, ‘China is building a diplomatic bridge in our country. The PLA’s morale is increasing due to the silence of the PM. Now there is a fear that PM might not reach to inaugurate this bridge as well.
Chabahar port also discussed
S Jaishankar also spoke on Chabahar port. He is working hard for the construction of the port. Unless there is some miraculous change in Pakistan’s attitude, which I do not expect, we will have to find a way to develop access to Central Asia. The port in Iran is very important for us. It’s been difficult, Iran has been under sanctions, but we’ve made steady progress.”
What is Chabahar Port?
Explain that it will be easier to do business between India, Iran and Afghanistan from Chabahar port. Apart from this, the Chabahar port is considered to be the answer to the Gwadar port being built with the help of China in Pakistan. Chabahar port is also important for India because this will make a direct way for India to connect with Central Asia and there will be no interference from Pakistan. With this, India’s association with Afghanistan and Russia will become stronger. Under the agreement signed in 2016, India is investing $ 85 million for the necessary equipment in Chabahar port. Along with this, India is also giving a loan of 150 million dollars for the development of the port.
What is SCO?
SCO was formed on 15 June 2001. Then China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan established the ‘Shanghai Cooperation Organization’. After this, apart from removing racial and religious tensions, increasing business and investment also became the objective. Shanghai Cooperation Organization consists of 8 member countries. These include China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan. Apart from these, there are four observer countries – Iran, Afghanistan, Belarus and Mongolia.
This organization has more than 60% area of Eurasia i.e. Europe and Asia. More than 40% of the world’s population lives in its member countries. Also, it has one-fourth share in the world’s GDP. Not only this, its member countries include two permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (China and Russia) and four nuclear powers (China, Russia, India and Pakistan).
India, Pakistan, Iran and Mongolia also participated in the summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan in 2005. This was the first time that India participated in the SCO summit. Till 2017, India remained the observer country of SCO. In 2017, at the 17th SCO summit, India and Pakistan were given full member status as part of the expansion of the organization. SCO is currently considered the largest regional organization in the world. India is the largest country in this organization after China and Russia.
