OK although it didn't do exactly what you wanted on the first try. BuT damn That sound amazing.
So it’s been 2 months. Updates?
It just came up with some standard chord progressions. The pianist did most of the work.
It's not…as bad as I thought 🤔
5:30 you're doing right now what people are meant to do with AI. Get a rough idea, then modify it to sound/look good.
The most important thing here was: it was completely wrong, but that was OK, because it's interesting. That's the feeling I've had with most interactions with ChatGPT.
If these AI models are being sold as giving correct answers, then they'll continue to just be hype. (e.g., "Google's Bard keeps giving wrong answers, so it's crap," but "ChatGPT does amazing things, so it's cool!" well, they both fail the first test and pass the second test equally.)
“Let’s start out with something pretty simple”
I’m already lost.
I'd like it if it was way more wrong. Like if it were a random chord generator, I think you'd get something more interesting to use as a starting point.
But what it did is so mundane that if you know enough about music to use it as a starting point, then you also know enough about music that you don't need it as a starting point.
AI is pretty dumb at the moment. They are using YOU to get smarter. Then AI will replace you.
I see 2 x 4 characters, I hear a lot more sound than it feels there should be. Jesus, in either sound deaf or suck at this. Why not both?
Regarding the arts, I found the Chat-GPT3 struggled to follow directions regarding poetry. It did a very good job at writing poems, but when I asked it to follow certain rhyme schemes, it struggled to understand the intended rhyme scheme. I guess chat gpt didn’t have a lot of poetry related training data.
That was an incredibly interesting and informational video. Keep up the good work!
F | Dm7 | G7 | Cmaj7
is like putting ümláuts on an English word to make it more Viking.
this is an attempt to "make it jazzy".
1:33 Sounds like some kind of “going home after a long day” song.
i think this thing was just bullshitting its way through the exam. if you'd teach it about the overtone series and western harmony from the ground up, it'd probably become cyber chopin
What happens if you give it 3,6,2,5, in a specific key for 8 bars and tell it to do something different?
Commercial ahh music
i feel like i might be beating a dead horse here but once you get passed scratching the surface of a topic, it gives confidently incorrect advice, and when you point it out it apologizes and gives another (sometimes even the same) incorrect advice, atleast in software which is what i work on
like you can ask how to define and use strcuts in C, you can also ask it how to type cast in C, then you can even ask how to read a message from a UART1 receiver, but when you ask it to actually define a struct, read the message and type cast it into the struct, it makes absolute garbage
You've probably been asked this a ton of times already, but I would love to see a follow up video with GPT-4 I watched this video:
and it was quite impressive the improvements it made between versions. I'm curious to see it used to create jazz specifically and what your take on it is.
Dunno if it's your playing, but imho the C# bridge suited better than the B one
9:12 That grace note when you played G7 was pure gold
I think ChatGPT remembers words of Jacob Collier about "there's no wrong notes, just lack of confidence" and took it literally. It doesn't know shit, but it blasts with confidence
There are specific music AI's being tasted. Apparently Google has one that is ready for release.
It sounds like an unreleased piece from the first Sims game
I wonder if gpt4 is any better
You forgot to mention which chatgpt version you were using
Funny how you asked GPT to "write a song" but you decided to title the video "I asked GPT to play jazz". Very sneaky, I kinda respect that and resent that at the same time.
DjangoGPT when? :')
Àsk it..)what is JAZZ‽
what's your camera?
Ch a h cha cha chatt…ciitiipii?? It's crapity
😂😂😂 because programmers do not understand music!?😂😂
Didnt understand a word being said here but i still enjoyed myself
I really prefer the first bridge. I actually think it sounds great
I actually really enjoyed the things it came up with, yes it did sound al little off but that's what real musicians do all the time
One should understand that ChatGPT knows shit about what it writes. That's not an expert system but a glorified word processor.
Did… Did ChatGPT just get sassy with you at the end?! Seriously, it was like, "Dude I'm not a music-writing program! You want to write a song, find a musician!" 😅😂
AI is getting information about jazz from all the people in the internet saying jazz is just playing the wrong notes
The only person that can top ChatGTP's wrongness, is Charles Cornell thinking m3 above Ab is B 😂.
It’s your fault … it’s a conversational tool and chat gpt is not the proper model
