A former chapel and classroom on a main street in Flintshire has come up for sale. Caergwrle Chapel was built in the mid-19th century and occupies a prominent place in the town center.

But in recent years it has been used in conjunction with the adjacent school hall, both of which are partially obscured by weeds and have boarded up windows.

That being said, the stone buildings they are as striking as ever and the interior of the chapel in particular seems to have stopped in time, ready to hold a service this Sunday.

All the old pews are still there along with the stained glass windows and the pulpit in the front. The school room is in a bit of a mess, but also appears to be in relatively good condition based on the listing pictures.

Unsurprisingly, both spaces benefit from high ceilings and are advertised by estate agents as versatile development opportunities, as are most of the chapels and churches coming up for sale in North Wales.
