It will seek to highlight those who run small businesses and the impacts they have on the economy as well as their communities.

The campaign, which began on November 4, will stop in Ipswich on November 29 and run until Small Business Saturday on December 7.

During this time, free online training, mentoring and webinars will be offered to small businesses to help them thrive.

Cllr Neil MacDonald, leader of the borough council, said the campaign also served another purpose from the authority’s perspective, asking shoppers to try out small businesses to show the “richness and variety” on offer.

Small businesses can register and get involved in the free program using this link.

Cllr MacDonald said: “We are delighted that the Small Business Saturday tour is coming to Ipswich to tell the stories of small businesses that make an important contribution to our local economy.

“Small Business Saturday, December 7, is a key date on the calendar to highlight the impact small businesses have on our community every day of the year.

“We hope businesses take the opportunity to get involved in the campaign and benefit from the free support on offer.”

Other locations the Small Business Saturday campaign will visit include Glasgow, Chester and Newcastle, plus three dates in London.
