iWaste moves to a larger reading facility

Expanding e-waste recycling company Intelligent Waste Management (iWaste) has moved to a larger facility on the outskirts of Reading to facilitate growth.

The company has taken a ten-year lease on a 15,000-square-foot unit at the Ducks Nest Farm commercial property in Arborfield Cross.

After a four-year search for a site, iWaste, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, relocated after it outgrew and bottlenecked its previous facility in nearby Eversley.

Director Sam Prentice said: “This move, which is ultimately not far from our previous home, allows iWaste to take the next step as a business.

“We are investing heavily in new facilities and have a potential site for future development as needed.

“We are very much a national company so securing a site with good vehicle access and excellent transport links was crucial. We are within easy reach of the M4 and M3 so we can easily reach the whole country.

“This site is all about growth and having the ability to expand further. The next 12 months will really be about getting us set up, refining our systems, and ensuring we can keep going.”

iWaste was established at the height of the recession in 2013 by Prentice and COO Sam Mountain who, after years working in waste management, spotted a gap in the market.

The company provides e-waste collection, secure data destruction, electronic recycling equipment and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) disposal services for businesses across the UK.

Clients include corporations and public sector organizations such as the NHS.

The company operates a robust recruiting model, spearheaded by General Manager Louise Drysdale, to ensure its workforce is diligent, experienced and local.
