Now that the usual month of sobriety is almost over, you’re probably mugging for a drink. Certainly, the FOOT The staff is thirsty: When we sent out a request for recommendations on their favorite public houses, we were overwhelmed by the response. A passionate discussion ensued about what makes the pub most welcoming. Our guide suggests that open fires, fine food and local beers should feature first, with alcoves, live music sessions and labyrinthine interiors also an added bonus. Our choice of pubs are all in the UK, some squished into busy streets, others sitting alone in nature. I love the Flying Childers, a family run inn on the edge of Stanton Moor in Derbyshire. You definitely have your own favorites – I challenge you all to share.

January is a big month for jewellery: this week sees the first of the year’s high jewelery collections unveiled. Designed to fit in with haute couture shows, these exclusive presentations showcase some of the largest and most exquisite gemstones in the world. For this issue, however, we’ve looked at another level of jewelry, fine jewelry, with pieces you can wear every day. Our outbreakby photographer Indigo Lewin and HTSIStyle director Isabelle Kounteure illustrates how a simple element can bring life to life.

Models Peng Chang, Freya Nutter and Jennifer Matias have been selected as some of the most exciting names to watch this year. Jennifer has been a favorite of designer Matthieu Blazy at Bottega Veneta, so one assumes she may appear in her Chanel debut. Peng has become a Burberry muse and Freya is quickly emerging as a catwalk star. Together, they make an elegant three graces, adorned in their Bvlgari, Dior and Chopard jewels. Those looking for something more poisonous in spirit, however, should check out Our selection of snakesanother very popular motif in jewelry and the star of all types of celebrations as we mark the Chinese New Year.

I often feel a slight envy when reading Igor Ramírez García-Peralta, our collaborator and adventurer who embodies the art of living well. Last year, he decided he wanted to buy an Andalusian colt. In this topic we track his journeyfrom the San Miguel Fair to the sandy beaches of Chiclana de la Frontera, in search of that horse, which for centuries has been indelibly written in the cultural language of the region, and starred in wars, rituals and ceremonies.

Finally, another drunken story: Alice Lascelles has gone in search of The cocktail trends of 2025. She has discovered, to my horror, that bartenders expect Armagnac- and Calvados-based drinks to take off this year. I’m especially wary of a suggestion that Crème de Menthe is back. Maybe I should order a “Stinger” when I’m next at the Inn in Stanton and get the whole retro-classic vibe.
