Consolidation continued apace in the UK property market with the acquisition of one of the smallest players in the sector.
CT Property Trust PLC has agreed to be purchased in a paper agreement filed by London Metric Property PLC (LSE: LMP)valuing it at £198.6 million, a 34% premium to Tuesday’s closing price.
Unsurprisingly, CT shares soared – 19% to 74.6p. By contrast, the bidder’s shares fell 8% to 178.3 pence.
Shore Capital said the deal “seems [like] a good strategic fit and should create new shareholder value” for LondonMetric.
