Long Melford Ivy & Bond tea room announces opening date for sister store Clutterham and Daughters Ice Cream and Sweets

The opening date for a highly anticipated sweet shop and ice cream parlor in Long Melford was revealed as the owners shared their excitement.

The Ivy & Bond tea room at Waterloo House, Hall Street, opened in January and owner Helen Clutterham, 45 from Glemsford, quickly sought to expand into the neighboring property with grand plans for a traditional sweet shop.

And now their dreams have come true as Ivy & Bond announced that the new store, Clutterham and Daughters Ice Cream and Sweets, will open its doors to the public on Monday 29th May.

Posting on social media, they said: “Our aim is to provide Long Melford with a unique traditional old fashioned shop that will serve not only the local community but also the visitors and tourists who visit our lovely village.

“We are very excited about the next part of our journey with Ivy & Bond and look forward to welcoming them on Bank Holiday Monday.”

The shop will have a selection of traditional sweets, chocolate, fudge and Suffolk Meadow ice cream that can be purchased in a cone or tub. They will also serve the Ivy & Bond 27, similar to a 99 with scale.

In their statement, they said: “Our aim at the outset is to introduce a range of ice cream flavors and then be guided by what our customers like or suggest. Therefore, we look forward to changing and introducing you to new flavors on a regular basis.

“We will also be selling some local Suffolk products such as chilli jam, chutney, fruit jams and curds. As time goes on we will be adding to our Suffolk range.”

Clutterham and Daughters Ice Cream and Sweets will open next door to their Ivy & Bond tea room on Monday between 11am and 4pm There will be a quiz on that day, plus samples of sweets and ice cream to try.

The store will open every day of the half-term week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and then from Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until summer. During the summer, the opening hours will be extended.
