Everyone celebrates Mother’s Day on social media a little differently. Some people post pics of their kids, while others flaunt photos of themselves relaxing without kids. And, if you’re Mary J. Blige, you drop total thirst trap photos on Instagram.
The 52-year-old Grammy winner casually shared pics of herself in a bodysuit to celebrate Mother’s Day, and they’re kind of everything. There’s Mary in a leather-look romper with cut-outs at the sides, showcasing her toned abs and strong legs—followed by Mary in the same ‘fit shot from the front and giving the camera major attitude.
“Overall mother from the House of MJB!! Happy Mother’s Day!!!!” she wrote in the caption. People were all about it in the comments. “Hot momma ❤️, said Fat Joe, while someone else kept it casual with “MARY I DON’T KNOW WTF YOU GOT GOING ON BUT I LOVE IT GIRL!!! DAMN YOU LOOK SO GOOD 😍😍.”
So, what does Mary do to look so strong? She told Health in 2020 that she’s not obsessed with exercise, but she still puts in the work. “I don’t like it, but I have to do it,” she said. “I like to look a certain way. So I have to do what I have to do.”
Mary said she does a lot of weight training, noting that “heavy lifting” is in the mix. “It keeps everything firm,” she said. She also works out four times a week with a trainer, telling Self that her workouts are “full body.”
“Sometimes I’ll tell them, okay well let’s concentrate on the legs, well let’s concentrate on the arms, or let’s go hard on the abs,” she said. “So, it’s whatever I choose, whatever body parts I want it to be.”
By the time Friday and Saturday roll around, she’s focused on cardio. “You have to train like an athlete. This is the game,” she said.
Mary shared with E! News last year that she has a mantra she recites every day to lift herself up. “I started thinking positivity over myself, even if I couldn’t see it [physically], but I had to build it up from the inside,” she said. “So I started speaking every day, ‘Good morning, gorgeous,’ ‘good morning, beautiful,’ ‘good morning, sexy,’ ‘good morning…whatever it is that I wanted to be.’ And that started to help me to grow.”

Mary told Health that she loves food. “I eat a lot of protein. I drink a green juice every day,” she said. “I’ve been a vegetable eater since I was a kid. If I am going to indulge, it’s a Coke float—vanilla ice cream and Coke. Or a fudge cupcake.”
You go girl!
