MDOT to Host Governor’s Summit on Minorities and Small Businesses

BALTIMORE – Maryland offers people the opportunity to get free help running or starting a small business.

On Tuesday, November 19, the state will host a Minority and Small Business Outreach Summit.

It will be from 8 am to 5 pm at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor.

More than 800 business owners are expected to attend.

A state official said there is a lot of money businesses can make through the state.

“We have over $7 billion in opportunities for companies to take advantage of. And this is anyone who is doing professional engineering, professional services, bridge construction, anything you can imagine. There is probably an opportunity in the state for you especially for businesses,” said Tony Bridges, deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation.

It costs a business $75 to register for the event.
