  1. iPads can be detrimental to cognitive development, but also supplemental for learning. It all comes down to how the parents utilize the iPad. It's a very different experience for the child to watch high stimulation content by themselves, as opposed to watching an educational video in a parents lap while the parent actively engages with them in observation throughout the video.

At the end of the day, children are hard wired to desire parental connection. And its the consistent lack of connection that can really damage a child.

  2. Are some of them even watching their kids and monitoring what they are listening to cause at the fair I went to last month I saw 9-10 year olds listening to and requesting the most vile songs at this one ride😭

  3. Gen Z grew up alongside the Internet, we didn't grow up with it like Gen alpha there's a major difference. The first ever iPhone came out in 2007, AOL and dial up were still popular. As we grew so did the Internet, hell I didn't get my first phone until I was 12 which was still a flip phone mind you.

  4. Yes!!! Legit at work today these kids made THE BIGGEST mess I mean seriously unbelievable and nothing was said about it and the kids screaming in the cafe and he started beating up his little brother and the mom just said gentle gentle while the kid continues to rail on his brother. That’s what happens when u don’t say no to ur kids and that’s gonna be a very rude awakening for them someday to realize that’s not actually how the world workss

  5. I do think the problem is gentle parenting because constantly validating every emotion can unintentionally teach your kids that their emotions and feelings are the most important thing in the world. Which is not true. Sometimes your feelings don’t matter (especially when facts and evidence are involved!), and you’re not the most important person in the room. It also doesn’t teach kids to just sit with uncomfortable feelings and figure out healthy coping strategies.

  6. Gen z was literally raised by the same generation of parents as millenials lets also not forget covid and the mysterious vaccine schools pushed on children who knows what that did to these kids. I work hard with my son as a millennial and let me tell you they dont fear pumishment and the system will take your kids if you beat them no one is talking about the restraint on parenting.

  7. Millenial here, and yep, this is why I'm not having kids because I don't want to be responsible for fucking up another human being, whether that be my child or anyone my child comes into contact with.

  8. I have a cousin, she's like 11 but when she was like 9 she was watching KAKEGURIU (or whatever) BEASTARS AND A LOT OF OTHER +16 RATED ANIME??? Also my little sis was trying to play with her but she was busy on her iPad and my sister tried to see what was she watching and she was watching HAPPY TREE FRIENDS?!??!!! My sister ran to my mom crying and couldn't describe what she saw, disappointing how her mother is a psychologist

  9. The people, that tell you to shut up, because you don't have kids are so stupid… WE CAN SEE YOU! We can see your kids behaviour. We can see your struggle!

  10. Whoever thought generational trauma would compound traumatise generations down the line. For real tho millenials were raised mediocre at best by boomers, Mills have since taken years worth of crap from boomers and Xer’s. Who’d have thought they themselves would turn out to be bad parents, and that compounds to create the little cretins amongst Gen Alpha. I aint defending anybody, im a Gen Z who will never be having kids at any point in my life. I haven’t got skin in this game. Well no thats actually not true because we’re now living in a world where we’re boxed in by narcissistic, divorced from reality boomers on one side, and gremlins incarnate alphas on the other. The future truly looks ✨Bright✨

  11. If you dont want kids dont have them. Having kids and behaving indifferent to them is freaking pathetic. And there's no excuse either. This isnt the 1800s anymore. People dont have any obligation to have kids if they dont want to.

  12. As someone born in 2000, with a 1yr old. While i do let him watch Ms. rachel, when im tired or need to clean, he does spend time outside and has engaging toys and while its hard to read to him everyday cause of my work schedule. I know his daycare does cause he will literally bring a book and start pointing at things and be like "uhhh?" Then ill be like thats blue and he'll be like, "blue?" When i say good job he will then point at anything blue and keep saying blue? Over and over again
    Lol

  13. Look say SOME MILLENNIALS it’s not all of us I believe in sharing meals together a love for reading etc I was raised by the silent generation (baby boomers parents) so I’m like half boomer half millennial I’m a milleniboom

  14. I feel so bad for gen alpha because not only are they getting a bad reputation for something that they didn't do, but there are also many gen alpha that are just normal kids,

  15. I was born in 2012 and I don’t believe in people just assuming that all gen alpha are iPad kids it really hurts me like, I will be in Sephora because my aunt wants some makeup and I will here an employee whisper to another employee “oh another Sephora kid😒” LIKE NOT ALL GEN ALPHAS ARE LIKE THAT! For example, my little brother has tantrums A LOT but instead of giving him the iPad, they take away the iPad. Not all gen alpha can’t read. For example, I get really good grades in school and I’m gen alpha. Like, I remember when skibidi toilet didn’t exist, when I was watching the duck song (I still do). It is unfair for people to assume that everyone in 1 generation is the same it is simply not true. I know that some people in the replies are going to say “Oooh but you are an iPad kiiiiid” I have 1 response for that: Pls STOP. Anyways I hope some people who are sane agree with this.

  16. Gen alpha is not totally doomed. I’m gen alpha I’m above my grade and my parents regularly take away my electric devices for the smallest things. “HEY IM OUT HERE” – a not doomed gen alpha kid
