In this video we’re taking a look at the three central mothers of the show – Cersei Lannister, Catelyn Stark and Daenerys Targaryen – and see how the values they pass down come to define their children’s future, just like in our own world. I think there is a slight difference between cersei's and Katelyn's parenting compared to daenerys😂
Aten over ten for our wolf mom
Wolf- while caring she is blind to the world and its real dangers. In the end most of the Starks are dead. I never liked her or her daughter, most of the time I saw them as stupid idiots i would love to slap.
Lion, Cersi coddled her children until they were spoiled rotten brats with high entitlement and seemed to think they were untouchable. Wrong since this gets them killed.
Dragon, while her child was taken early this approach seems best, she becomes mother to her dragons and the people who follow her. It's too bad she never knew her people of how they cared for their dragons. Family dynamics over the throne ruined that and weakened their family. I hated the ending and wished she hadn't been killed or lost her dragon children. 100 % targarion fan. 🐲
Rose, caring and compassionate while being loving toward others family. Each one seems strong and stable. This family will endure even after their matriarch's demise (loved that lady and her whit)
Can these lessons be applied to fatherhood too?
Interesting the only women who survive GOT were not mothers
Gilly is by far the best mother on the show, and Sam the best father 😅
Cersei, Catelyn, and Dany all lost their mothers in childbirth, and that’s really the only thing that connects them
Cersei was a terrible mother, because her father Tywin sucked at fatherhood as well. Her children dying and failing is not just hers, but also Tywins fault, who was blind to everything but power. The Lennister arrogance, ruthlessness and lust for power wich caused so much suffering came from Tywin.
Cercei's love for her kids comes secondary to herself. She's the one who killed them all, through all her direct or indirect actions, they died because of her selfishness and greed for power. She could happily have gone back to Casterly rock after Robert died, and let Stannis be the damn king and her children would be safe. She brought on all her own misery and I have zero sympathy for her tbh.
Looking back on these videos by the Take they get so much wrong in their commentary of A Song of Ice and Fire especially by the standards of the books, even with the show they are some what off.
Speaking of GOT mothers, I've always wondered something about Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion's mother, Joanna Lannister. Why did she die giving birth to Tyrion, a dwarf? She survived giving birth to twins, on her very first pregnancy no less, but bled to death birthing Tyrion?
This video was made by people without children. Clearly.
Daenerys reminds me of Elizabeth I, who never married and considered England her child. I honestly consider her one of England's greatest queens.
May i suggest another video about mothers but now using the characters in house of the dragon? After 2 or 3 seasons maybe..
Bran stark is cuz of Jaime & Sansa cuz of CERSEI LANNISTER honestly & ARYA by TYWIN himself & John had some influence through TYRION as well 😂🤣 funny tho LANNISTER'S are definitely apart they've asserted sheer dominance no matter how hard the times were they didn't back down they were RUTHLESS & BRUTAL that's the reason they're so different & magnificent compared to other houses time & again they've proved themselves in order to keep all 7 kingdoms intact did everything it takes
Daenerys isn’t a mom tho (don’t come at me saying she was lost her kid cuz losing a unborn kid doesn’t make you a mom so)
You can't add Danny into this… obviously they r dragons nd she used dragons how anyone will use. .what's parenting in the dragons??
Mom was/is a Cercei. She is always in control.
so good. ly guys
Well I'm just going to say if it wasn't for Catelyn Stark and her love, she killed off half of her family and the other half of them damaged ….
Well this was pretty good until Danarys and her made up language! Lol ! These are all bad mothers! Coming from a mother… Nobody's perfect! But these are horrible!! Except Olenna Tyrell!! Loved her !!
Is there a "Fathers of Game of Thrones" video?
I love that this channel recognizes cersei being driven by love. Flawed. But still honest love
Ffs Dany isn’t a mom!
Catlyn made mistakes so grave that she nearly lost Westros to the Lannisters. All three mothers were corrupted by wealth, power and ambition. They greatly harmed their families.
Why did the Lannister family become such an entitled family in the first place? Why didn’t anyone in that family try to change the way they did things for the better?
I’d love a version of this for House of the Dragon! Comparing Rhaenyra and Aliscent’s mothering styles
