Small business owners in Norfolk tell us that local trade shows are key for these businesses to survive the pressures caused by rising costs.

The Suffolk Show will run for another year, while the Norfolk Show will begin later this month, with local businesses attending hoping to cash in and ease cost of living pressures.

“It also allows people like us to barter with larger companies”

Morgan Lewis is the founder of ‘Bakeaholics’, based in Attleborough:

“Everyone started somewhere, big brands didn’t become massive overnight, you have to buy in small quantities to allow these companies to grow and be more sustainable.

“It also allows people like us to barter with larger companies. I have no basis to tell these chocolate companies that I’m not going to pay these rising prices, while the larger companies can.”

Emma Brigham is the owner of Walnut Tree Distillery, based in Norwich:

“As an independent company, it’s very difficult to get out there. Having rural shows like this allows independents to be able to dip their toes in the water and be able to show themselves to the local population.”

When and where is the Royal Norfolk Show?

It will take place from Wednesday, June 26 to Thursday, June 27.

It will be held at the Norfolk Showground for the 68th time.
