Carlos Sainz’s father has expressed his pride and satisfaction after the Ferrari driver took pole position and a double victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, ticking the box to win again before switching to Williams in 2025 .

Sainz, who will be replaced at the Scuderia by Lewis Hamilton next season, achieved the sixth pole and the fourth victory of his F1 career with an imperious display throughout the weekend at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Taking a break from the post-race celebrations, Sainz Sr. said F1.com: “For me, obviously, I’m super happy about the weekend. Not only [in the race] where the points are given, but he was also strong in the classification.

“I think he was a bit unlucky in Austin (having finished second to teammate Charles Leclerc after technical problems), but he was super fast there, so I’m really happy about these last few races; seems like an interesting ending. of the championship.”
