NVIDIA Due to design flaws, there will be delays in the production of the Corp.’s upcoming artificial intelligence chips, reports The Information, citing two unnamed people involved in the production of the chip and associated server hardware.
The chips could be delayed by three months or more, which could affect Nvidia’s customers, including Meta-platforms Inc., Google LLC and Microsoft Corp.
According to an unidentified Microsoft employee and another person, Nvidia informed Microsoft this week of a delay in its most advanced Blackwell series of AI chip models.
The delays mean major deliveries are not expected until the first quarter of 2025, The Information added.
According to the report, an Nvidia spokesperson declined to comment on statements made to customers regarding the delay, but told The Information that “production is on track and expected to ramp up later this year.”
Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services and Meta declined to comment to the publication, while a TSMC spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
