Parents often have misplaced dreams for their kids – focusing on things and achievements instead of focusing on building their character. In his new book, 8 Secrets to Raising Successful Kids, Dr. Leman helps parents place emphasis on WHO their children will become instead of WHAT they become. He offers time-tested solutions for parenting that will help moms and dads plant the seeds of patience, kindness, humility, thankfulness, and respect in their children, as they prepare them for adulthood.
His strategies include starting with the end in mind, expecting the best from your children, modeling a disciplined life, minimizing friction, while optimizing solutions, and keeping the relationship first. The broadcast, recorded with a live audience, encourages parents to examine their parenting style and transform their thinking to get successful results with their kids.

This is a very interesting and insightful discussion
The sheep will only follow the authentic shepherd.
I hate how self centered that old geezer sounds!
Thank you
I will admit that I was very impressed! I was skeptical that being of a more mature age that there would not be much insight on children today. However, I LOVE the insight and advice. This helped me identify areas in which I need to take new approaches and practice more patience.
I think failure is important if you try. But not when you’re very lazy, inconsiderate and don’t care, then in that case, failure is doom
Kids don't need things
I'm I an example of who my child or children should be like 🤔
Como lo puedo escuchar en español ?
I am going to say a majority of kids stray because the parents preached do as I say and not as I do. Add on to that parents have not rid themselves of their sin, addictions and dysfunction and pass their junk into their kids. The way you fix kids is by fixing the parents. NO MATTER THE AGE!!!!
This is great. Thank you for this insight on raising children.
What a lot of Rubish
❤AMEN🙏

The 8 strategies:
1. Start with the end in mind
2. Expect the best & get the best. Have high expectations. Kids want to please you.
3. Give and you shall receive.
4. Rolemodel.
5. Discipline, don’t punish.
6. Stay in the course. You’re the captain of life. Know where you are going. Kids are tending to follow leaders.
7. Failure is important.
8. Minimize friction.
9. Keep the relationship first.
Fantastic broadcast to keep our family in God's presence!
Great advice! However, asking questions to teenagers is the best to have a relationship with them. The trick is when to ask the question
We live in an instant-gratification microwave society. We have been conditioned to expect instant results, or we get angry, disappointed, or depressed. We have greater opportunities to connect with others; however, we are more disconnected than ever before. We have all the information of the world at our fingertips but shorter attention spans than ever before. What are we doing to ourselves? We have everything other generations could only dream about; however, we can never find our peace, contentment, or joy. We feel pressure to go faster and faster while getting nowhere. This book (Slow Down!) will briefly explain how less is more and how immediate happiness might lead to a life of disappointment, discouragement, and depression. If you truly want the fastest route to long-lasting and meaningful joy, you may want to consider slowing down! "SLOW DOWN! A Dad's Simple Advice to His Children and to the World" By Jeff Chappy Chapman
