Father Yod’s real name was Jim Baker. Who was awarded the Silver Medal for his bravery in the Second World War. He was an expert in Jujitsu (martial arts). He didn’t need weapons to kill anyone. Hands were enough. He was accused of robbing 11 banks. He was convicted of killing two people in 1963. But the story of a soldier becoming a religious guru and his end is very interesting.
After the war ended, Jim Baker went to audition for the Hollywood film Tarzan, but failed. After this he decided to open a restaurant. First the Old World and the Aware Inn. Opened two restaurants named. This business became very successful. During this, he met religious guru Yogi Bhajan. It was from here that Jim Baker embarked on the journey of becoming Father Yod.
Yogi Bhajan’s real name was Harbhajan Singh Khalsa. His followers also used to call him Shri Singh Sahib. Yogi Bhajan was an Indian-American entrepreneur, yoga guru and spiritual teacher.
Jim created his own religious philosophy. Which included free love, spiritual sex, focusing on a health-oriented lifestyle and smoking a lot of ganja. He started calling himself Father Yod and started gathering his followers. He named the whole group ‘Source Family’. Everyone started living in the same house.
The whole group used to work together in the restaurant, earning so much that Father Yod even bought a Rolls-Royce car. He started living a life of luxury. He named himself YaHoWah. A word that was derived from the Hebrew Yahwe, meaning God. He would teach people to chant it.

Even 16-year-old girls living in three-room houses started getting pregnant. The more children were being born, the more followers of Father Yod were increasing. These 140 people gave up their surnames. Instead, everyone started writing Aquarian as a surname. In place of his name, he started keeping names like Lotus, Lovely, Explosion, Sunflower.
Together, this group started taking out audio cassettes, due to which the people around started facing problems due to the noiseless voices. It was an attempt to spread its philosophy to as many people as possible through music.
Father Yod was leading this band. At least 60 albums were recorded. The group itself was publishing its music. When the neighbors started having problems, he had to leave his house and go to another place.

Father Yod married many women for his debauchery. He cheated on his first wife. This wife later alleged that he was living with underage women due to lust. His complaints were also valid. Wrong was happening with the girls inside the group itself.
A 16-year-old girl was made his wife by an elderly Father Yod. Later, the same girl was married to another boy of the group. This girl was associated with this group in 1972. He says that a lot happened to him in the group but the experience was positive.
It is said that out of these 14 wives, only one was the legal wife. He used to call everyone else his ‘spiritual wives’.

Father Yod took the entire group and went to live in Hawaii. One day in 1975, he announced that he was going to do hand gliding. He had no experience of it at all.
He jumped from a cliff at a height of 1300 feet with a glider and fell straight on the ground. Due to which he died. It was said in many reports that it was not an accident but a suicide.
According to the John Hopkins newsletter, Father Yode was beginning to lose faith in himself. He even told one of his followers that he is not a god.
In a 2012 documentary, a former member of the group said that Father Yode had told the group about his intention to ‘leave the body’ about a month before the accident, but no one expected that such a body would be abandoned. After the death of Father Yod, the whole group started disintegrating.
Then in 1978, finally it was completely disintegrated. Now a TV series is coming on the life of Father Yod. For this reason, this person is once again in discussion.
