  3. I have an older sister that wears a hearing device and if it’s broken she experiences the same feeling. At 12 years old I partially loss some of my hearing and still have trouble today at 48 hearing people. We both learned how to”lip read” but I’m also trying to learn how to do ASL now that I’m working and around other friends and people I know who are deaf as well. It hurts when people get frustrated at us. Please try to understand our feelings too. We’re having just as much of a hard time as you are

  4. Their normal isn’t yours, for a deaf child it’s having a hearing break like for me is when I put my headphones on and drown out the world (my misophonia and lacking people skills at times make life unbearable half the time) their normal is not being able to hear, having a cochlear implant is helpful in the outside world but at home they can just be them. You should strive to communicate with your child regardless. It’s probably frustrating for some parents too, ups and downs. Just let your kid be your kid
