The Geelong Small Business Festival (GSBF) 2024 programme is now available and ThatsMyFace founder Nadia Lee has been announced as the event’s keynote speaker.

The popular festival, which has been running for 14 years, will offer more than 50 free and low-cost events from 12-23 August, with a special launch event at The Pier Geelong on Thursday 8 August.

In 2023, the Geelong Chamber of Commerce partnered with the City of Greater Geelong to deliver what was hailed as the most successful GSBF yet, and will continue to play that role throughout this year’s festivals and next.

Chamber chief executive Jeremy Crawford said changes had been made to make the event even more accessible this year.

“Following a highly successful inaugural partnership in 2023, this year will be even bigger with a packed programme of activities condensed into two weeks and organised around key themes to help businesses make the most of the festival,” he said.

“We are very excited to bring Nadia Lee, a pioneering AI futurist, to Geelong, along with so many sessions for leaders to take advantage of and focus on their business.”

Mayor Trent Sullivan echoed Crawford’s sentiments, emphasising the festival’s expanded presence in Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Torquay.

“This strategic alignment brings together regional business leaders, experts and industry organizations to share invaluable insights and strategies for success,” said Mayor Sullivan.

“The Geelong Small Business Festival is a great opportunity to learn new skills, gain knowledge, be inspired by innovative ideas and discover new ways of doing business.

“There is something for everyone, from starting a business, social media and people management, to social responsibility, sustainability and marketing.”
