NFIB Calls on President Biden and Congress to Make Small Business Deduction Permanent
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 7, 2024) – He National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union address:
“During these difficult economic times, small businesses have continued to create new jobs and be the engine of the economy,” he said. Brad Close, president of the NFIB. “But to truly boost the economy, Congress and the administration must stop a looming tax increase on small employers by passing the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, a top priority for small businesses, as it would make the Small Business Deduction permanent. “Washington should focus on policies that reduce government bureaucracy and promote those that drive economic growth, allowing small business owners to raise wages, hire new employees, and invest in their local communities.”
NFIB recently published a “Top 10 policy priorities for 2024”That explains the biggest political issues facing small businesses today and what Congress can do to elevate those issues.
