A painful accident has happened in Kolkata, West Bengal. A woman and her daughter from Ekbalpur here were killed, while the son-in-law was badly injured. His condition also remains critical. It is being told that when the son-in-law was drying the clothes, the iron wire got electrocuted. His wife and mother-in-law tried to save the man.
The incident took place in Ekbalpur area. Izhar Akhtar had gone to hang the wet clothes on the iron wire near the house at around seven in the morning. Izhar got electrocuted. Seeing this, her mother-in-law Muntaha Begum ran to save her. She too got electrocuted. Izhar’s wife Khairulnesa ran to save her mother and husband. She also got stuck.
Mother-daughter died in the incident. The incident is of 37/2D Ekbalpur Lane. The area where the incident took place is basically Basti Ghinji area. Local residents use an iron wire going over the road to dry their clothes. On the day of the holiday, Izhar Akhtar also hung the clothes on the iron wire, but only then the current went off in it.
As soon as Izhar was electrocuted, mother-in-law Muntaha Begum ran to save him. She too got electrocuted. When Izhar’s wife Khairulnesa ran to save her mother Muntaha and husband Izhar, she too got electrocuted. All three kept on suffering for a long time. After this somehow all three were rescued.
After this, Izhar, his wife Khairulnesa and mother-in-law Muntaha were admitted to SSKM Hospital in critical condition. His condition is serious. Khairulnesa and Muntaha have died, while Izhar’s condition is still critical. After this accident, the officials of Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited also reached the spot.
