Along with many improvements meant to make life easier for new players, some visual improvements have also been added, along with a new tractor beam feature. The latter may not seem all that important, but the new mechanic allows players to earn money by attaching and detaching items, such as ship components, which can be sold for a profit.

Dubbed Call to Adventure, the new update not only guides new players through the intricacies of Star Citizen’s gameplay systems, but also adds more depth and improvements to single-player and multiplayer draw. Additionally, Star Citizen players will receive new combat and rescue missions.

If you are a new player, you will find a more guided experience that teaches you the ropes in Area18. The newly added content covers the basics, such as using the special device for player information and navigating cities on foot. Additionally, the new guide will take players to the spaceport, where they can take their first light on a C8 Pisces ship.

An important mechanic introduced by the latest update is the so-called PES (Persistent Entity Streaming) feature, which means that all elements within a server persist, so a ship left in orbit by one player can be discovered by another and stolen and destroyed. It’s the same technology that EVE Online has been using for a while now, where players can steal or destroy unattended ships.

Fans of PvP gameplay are also getting something. A new PvP event, Ghost Hollow, takes players to a small settlement within an abandoned Reclaimer wreck. Simply activating local terminals will generate UEC, the in-game currency used to purchase weapons, shields, and decorative items, while they’re active. However, this will activate AI guards and attract other players who would like to claim UEC for themselves. EVE Online players they will find this new PvP event familiar as it is one of the many ways to make money in the game of CCP.

As mentioned above, the tractor beam has been greatly improved to further expand your save game options. Starting with this update, the Tractor Beam tool allows players to attach and detach items from ship item ports. For now, it can only be used for component swaps, such as swapping mining heads or salvaging valuable cargo from shipwrecks. However, the feature will expand to other uses in future updates.

Speaking of rescue, Star citizen: The Call to Adventure update also brings new rescue missions. These come in three flavors: low-risk legal missions, illegal missions, and high-risk illegal missions. The former lets players save without risk of combat. On the other hand, during illegal missions, players can recover unprotected wrecks at risk of piracy. Finally, the high-risk illegal missions are located in the locations of recent battles, so while the rewards are extremely attractive, the risks are much higher.

The last major aspect touched upon by the recent update is mining. An improved user interface has been added to the game, which should offer more information and clarity to players at first glance. If mining is your primary activity in Star Citizen, you’ll be happy to know that the game now provides you with better insights into the risks of mining operations, minimum safe distances to avoid damage to ships, and much more.

Additionally, Cloud Imperium Games has revealed that some mining ships have been rebalanced to make them more rewarding for those who mine cooperatively. For example, the Prospector now offers unique benefits to groups that control it. The same goes for the Argo MOLE.

After the recent Call to Adventure update, Cloud Imperium Games has announced that Star Citizen will be available to play for free during the the game’s annual Invictus Launch Week 2953. The event offers players the chance to pilot some of the most iconic ships in the game for free.

During this year’s event, Cloud Imperium Games will debut its next-generation high-performance vehicle brand, the Mirai. The first vehicles of the new brand, the Fury and Fury MX, are now available for purchase or free rental during the event.

This time, the annual Invictus Launch Week 2953 is held in Area18 on ArcCorp to make it easier for new players to take advantage of the new guided experience and then head to the show floor to check out all the ships on display.

The Star Citizen Invicut 2953 launch week and Free Fly event will run until May 30. check the manufacturer’s schedule if you want to test specific ships.
