The first place to look for Fantasy success…

As always, the first port of call to decide who will lead your MotoGP™ Fantasy Team to glory must be the former Dream Team Fantasy. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) sent a message to the Spanish GP as he returned from the weekend against the dream team with an incredible comeback to victory as well as a solid 2nd place in the Tissot Sprint pocketing the precious 59 Italian Fantasy points.

Brad Binder’s (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) dream weekend at Jerez saw the South African join Bagnaia as a gold rider in the Fantasy Dream Team. Binder’s Tissot Sprint victory coupled with a 2nd place Grand Prix and 4th place qualifying saw the golden boy KTM score 47.5 points for players who picked him.

Binder’s teammate joined him in the Spanish GP dream team as Jack Miller took his Red Bull KTM from 2nd on the grid to solid top 3 finishes in the Tissot Sprint and the Spanish Grand Prix. This secured the Australian’s spot as the dream team’s first silver rider with Miller snatching a fantastic 33 points.

Last place in the dream team went to Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) with the Spaniard enjoying two 4th places from 3rd on the grid, earning him 27.5 Fantasy points.

Despite a strong showing from KTM in southern Spain, Ducati once again dominated in MotoGP™ Fantasy as the Bologna ball was the bike of choice as top scorer with 43.25 points.

Rain or sun, or sun in the rain?

Along with track conditions and rider form, pricing in MotoGP™ Fantasy is an important aspect to consider in order to budget for a strong Fantasy team. The pricing system takes into account the performance of the last GP against the expected performance of the rider. So if a runner performs well or exceeds expectations, their price will go up, but if they are below par, they will go down. Pricing on manufacturers will also vary from one GP to another taking into account the two drivers with the best average score from the previous GP. These are important things to consider when budgeting for your team and considering how your team’s value may increase or decrease from round to round.

With uncertain forecasts before the French GP, the first round of the Maverick Viñales Official League promises to be tricky. The riders who can master both conditions are the points to focus on before the MotoGP™ Fantasy at the French Grand Prix. Priced at 2.5K, championship leader Francesco Bagnaia would be a good place to start. We know the Italian has a good dry pace on the Le Mans circuit after seeing what he is capable of in 2022. Likewise, the Bagnaia arrives at the French GP in good spirits and in great shape after returning to victory in Jerez. In the rain, Ducati’s top dog has proven himself to be fast in wet weather on many occasions, and despite crashing in a wet Argentinian GP, Bagnaia has shown he can run on the podium in difficult conditions aboard his GP23.

When you’re looking for a jack of all trades, look no further than Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). The Aussie has already proven he is capable of winning on the Le Mans circuit in wet conditions after claiming victory in 2021. The Red Bull KTM man is no slouch in the dry and claimed 2nd place in the 2022 French Grand Prix. Miller also just won two 3rd places in Spain, so it would be a good choice for your MotoGP ™ Fantasy Team for 2.6 km.

Nor can the strength of the French be ignored. As always, the fans will be fully behind their local heroes, so Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) and Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) will be more motivated. Despite his lack of form in 2023, you can never rule out Quartararo, and especially at home. The 2021 World Champion is priced at 3.4K but could very well be the dark horse of your fantasy team. Zarco is also a solid option, priced at 2.7K the Frenchman is definitely one to watch in wet conditions, and with that extra support and motivation from the French crowd he could be a good choice come rain or shine. let the weather be nice.

The Ducati range always has something to add in MotoGP™ Fantasy. Danilo Petrucci (Ducati Lenovo Team) will return to the Ducati factory team replacing the injured Enea Bastianini. Petrucci has already won at Le Mans in the wet with Ducati, so he could be a dark horse to watch at the French GP for just 1.6km. Another one to watch is Jorge Martin, having been part of the Spanish GP dream team, the Spaniard could be a major force in MotoGP™ Fantasy for just 2.4K. Likewise, Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) took to the water like a duck with his Ducati, especially in wet weather, so for just 2.1km he could score some serious points.

With everything to play for, history awaits MotoGP™ in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend at the iconic Le Mans circuit. MotoGP™ Fantasy action throughout the weekend and make sure you don’t miss a thing with the action rolling from Friday 12 May on motogp.com.
