  1. Brawn brought it with physical precision exaktly on point: Frst split Armcobarrier, secondly the fire => scaring. The Halo system saved on Bord what primarily the first barriersysten with a closed outer skin and a suspending midlayer should firstly provide !

  2. What is amazing is that those barriers are actually even there at all on a modern newish designed race track. I'd have expected water filled barriers with tyres behind or something of the sorts that absorbs the impact.

  3. Glad he’s alive. But even David made a joke about Roman first mistake was putting on a race suit. Which says! Their all saying why has he still got a seat in f1.

  4. just remember why the halo was first suggested it was never intended to part steel armco …. it was because of a part or parts of a car that hit massa . the steel used in this instance looks to be of very poor cheap metal probably mild steel from china .however i hope a thorough investigation will be carried out before the next race …

  5. I'm disappointed that the FIA allowed the race course to pass inspection with that type of Armco barrier in place. The channels should be overlapping so that a needle-nosed car cannot pierce between the levels. Once the nose of the car pierced the barrier, momentum caused the rear of the car to twist around, tearing it in half, rupturing the fuel filler neck. It was a relatively shallow impact angle, and if a concrete block barrier had been there instead of Armco, the accident wouldn't have been as bad.

  6. The halo is getting the same reaction as the HANS device did when it first became mandatory in 2002. After we started seeing high profile drivers survive fatal crashes largely unscathed. The type of crash that killed Ayton Senna for example all those years ago,now became survivable with the HANS device,in fact drivers were were walking away with sprains, concussions and minor burns.
Had the Halo been fitted to the car Felipe Massa was driving in 2009, when it was hit by a damaged spring from another car travelling around 160mph,chances are Massa would've been completely unharmed. Prevention is always better. Whenever a crash occurs; money, time, expertise are thrown into looking at what happened and what lessons can be learnt. This is why nowadays,it's headline news if there's a fatality in f1.
