Costco is known for its affordable prices on bulk items and discounts on major purchases like appliances and electronics.

The problem, of course, is that you have to be a member to be able to access the store.

But now, a slew of TikTokers have found a way around the requirement: buying Costco gift cards that can be used to buy anything inside, even if you’re not a member.

In a clip that has been viewed more than 6.6 million times, TikToker Amin Shayko shows viewers that showing a Costco gift card will give you access to the store.

However, it should be noted that once inside, you can only spend the amount that is on the gift card if you are not a member.

“For people who want to do this and don’t have a membership, just know that the total must be paid with a gift card or they will reject your payment,” one user noted.

“Just remember if you don’t have a membership your card is worth 10% less because of the fees,” said another.

“Lol Costco employee here,” said one user who claimed to work at the department store chain. “Technically yes, but there’s no membership card to give anything back. You can’t spend anything other than gift card cash only at most Costco.”

There are an estimated 830 Costco stores around the world, with around 575 of them in the US and Puerto Rico.

Costco did not immediately respond to Entrepreneurrequest for comment or confirmation.
